Weapon damage type calculations
OK, I'm a W/Mo Axe primarily and I have a question about the damage in PvE (and I guess PvP). Melee (with axe, sword, bows) does physical damage against foes, correct? And this is usually countered by armor on some foes. If the weapon (axe, sword, wand etc...) does fire damage (Fire Axe of whatever... or even ignite for arrows) does this change the damage dealt to fire damage, thus bypassing the physical part of armor and hitting the elemental aspect of it? I've seen warrior builds praise Judges Insight, as it deals Holy damage. Is this type of damage something that goes through ALL armor?
I guess I'm looking for some insight in how damage is calculated taking armor into account, and which type has a better chance of giving max damage to foes. Do, fire, cold, earth & air(is that the 4th???)... all calculate the same? Also how does conjure flame, earth etc... add extra damage? I'm not W/E so it doesn't effect me, but my second PvE build is R/E so he can use this. |
